
John Briggs
John Briggs is the Head Women’s Hockey Coach at SUNY Morrisville and brings experience coaching at the collegiate and youth levels.
Prior to Morrisville, Briggs spent two seasons as an assistant coach at SUNY Cortland, helping lead the Red Dragons to back-to-back NEWHL Championship appearances and a combined 38-13-1 record. The coaching staff was recognized as NEWHL Coaching Staff of the Year following the 2021-22 season.
Briggs is a Level I USA Hockey Certified coach and was selected as a USA Hockey National Camp Coach invitee in 2022. His coaching experience also includes the Richland Rockies Women’s Hockey program, Valley Eagles 16U Tier II, and Skyland Kings 18U Tier II teams.
A former junior and semi-professional player in New Jersey and Scotland, Briggs earned his bachelor’s degree in Coaching from SUNY Cortland and also studied Sports Coaching and Development at Abertay University.
With a passion for player development and a proven track record of success, Briggs is committed to helping athletes build strong fundamentals, confidence, and a deeper understanding of the game.

Ryan Pascarella
Ryan Pascarella is SUNY Morrisville’s Assistant Men’s Hockey Coach.
Pascarella comes to Morrisville from the El Paso Rhinos where he served as a regional scout since November. Pascarella also served as an assistant coach with the Gilmour Academy in Ohio, working with players daily on-ice and with hockey operations.
A graduate of SUNY Fredonia with a degree in exercise science and minor in psychology, Pascarella was a member of the men’s ice hockey team where he appeared in 13 games in net.
Across his career he collected 145 saves for a .912 save percentage, recording a shutout victory.
While at Fredonia, Pascarella served as a goalie coach for the Lake Erie Bighorns, facilitating strength and conditioning workouts as well as player skill and development.
